Earlier in the year I thought I would do a few cards that could also hold a piece of jewellery. I looked at various items which would probably work, but settled on these pearls which hang on 925 Sterling Silver (had to buy them in bulk to get a good price). I did some for Valentines and they went well and I have done some for various birthdays too. But now its the Wedding season, so thought I would make these gift cards for brides to be.

Image from Pink Petticoat, bazzill cardstock, daisy punches, paper from stash, and white pen for faux stitching. Watercolour pencils for flowers on brides dress, flowers and head piece.

I have decided to do this weeks Sweet Sugar Challenge as it fits in nicely with my plans for some party bag labels for girls who will be attending my little boy's forthcoming party. The Challenge this week is to make something different with your Sugar Nellies thats not a card!
My little one is having a Pirate theme party so lots of stuff for boys, and the party bags for the boys will be decorated in Pirate style too, but just thought I would do something a bit more pretty for the girls.

I have used Sugar Nellie Ballet Maggie Stamp, which I stamped onto watercolour thick paper in black ink, Pink Petticoat Papers for the background, the paper piecing on the dress and for some of the flowers, Daisy Punches, Green Bazzill Cardstock, a label made on the computer using a trapezoid shape from Autoshapes in Word, Computer generated sentiment, watercolour pencils.

Just had to use Pink Petticoat images again - this one is taken from the Lola Rose Occasions collection. I have used the white pen again for some faux stitching as well as the Daisy Punches for the flowers. I have used watercolours to colour the picture. Havent used these before but I found a new set of them in the Charity Shop for £2.00 when I went in to drop of a bag of things for them to use a couple of days ago. I didnt have any paint brushes either so I have used a damp cotton bud to apply the colours. I do love the technique and will work on it now. I have been stamping my stamped designs on watercolour paper, which tends to allow the use of ordinary markers etc without showing too many lines, but watercolours are so much better!

MichelleO is giving away some blogcandy to celebrate 5000 hits over on her blog. All you have to do is link her blog and the candy to your blog, and then post a comment back on her blog, by June 2nd.

I was asked this week if I wanted to have a table at a Spring Craft Fair, on Sunday (yesterday) as some of the other stall holders had cancelled. After saying "yes", (my first craft fair) reality dawned on me that I hadn't made many cards - well enough to take along to a fair, and I had offered to help in my little boys Pre-school this week too, so no crafting time!! Anyhow yesterday morning, with rain pouring (and forecasted to last all day) I went along, armed with what I had, plus the invitations and stationery - walked into the room, and there were already three tables with cards on them - one solely cards and the other two tables, a small quantity of cards amongst other crafts and there was only going to be 10 stalls. Here I was a fourth, seller of cards! After laying out my cards on the table, it dawned on me just how inexperienced I was at this, no props, no stands, nothing to give height - it wasn't looking good - It meant when you walked through the door, you couldnt see what I had to sell at the far end - you had to come to the tables to see! When the 10th stall holder, walked through the door, with lots of boxes, it soon became clear - she was another card seller -Phoenix Cards - at a Craft Fair!!!! Now 5 tables with cards on them and the rain pouring outside - not looking good at all! In all the experience was good, the visitors slowly trickled in, (it was most definitely too wet), I met some other ladies and chatted to them about their crafts, I sold only 8 cards, but did get a fair amount of interest in my invitations........however I had time to make lots of notes, time to think about what was missing and what would sell.......Next time I am going to go for it. xxx

Being busy with Sugar Nellie and Pink Cat Studio stamps again - and the daisy punches -which I love, love, love.

Ok so I tried Hamish and his tractor again - this time I used a denim effect paper to paper piece his trousers. Again I thought it looked effective....might give him a red shirt next time. Now just to add more things to my, I would like to have list or more like I want it now list.......have you seen those new Sweet Art Ebony stamps over at www.Funkykits.co.uk .......they are gorgeous x

I love the Sugar Nellie Stamps. I have finally managed to have a play with Hamish and his tractor stamp. I have paper pieced his trousers.....couldnt be sure if the checked pattern was too big though, but I do like the effect. Must have another go with a different patterned paper.

This little guy is most certainly my favourite stamp from Pink Cat Studio's Billy Plate. I have paper pieced his trousers and given them the fringe on the sides too.

Oh Dear I have most certainly fallen behind with the postings. I haven't made many cards over the past week - have been battling the 'cold' so havent been feeling to great over the past few days. Also I have been helping out at my little one's Pre-school in the afternoon, which has been fabulous, but I havent had time for crafting. Anyway everything is back to normal for the next few days......but half term is just around the corner.....xxx

I have been a bit backward with my postings over the past few days. I have had a birthday party to go to (well my little one did) and then I have been making invitations for his birthday party next month (pics to follow shortly). Anyway I am still playing with the same Sugar Nellie Maggie stamp and of course Pink Petticoat Papers. I have paper pieced the dresses, on both cards and the shoes too on the one with the spotty background. I am having so much fun with these that I have yet to try the Hamish with tractor one yet - but I will get there. The ribbons, gems and flowers have all been taken from my stash and again the sentiment has been done on the computer.
